Psychologist, MSc

Miray Erbey

Miray Erbey's academic journey in psychology began at Istanbul Bilgi University and included a year at the University of Winnipeg. An internship at Columbia University's social neuroscience laboratory further sparked her interest in research, leading her to complete a master's degree in neuroscience at Istanbul University. Motivated to explore the intricacies of human psychology, she relocated to Berlin to undertake her doctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. Her research delved into the interactions between mind, body, and emotion, with a focus on areas such as lifespan development, emotion regulation, attention, and aging.

Building on her academic background and personal experiences, she turned her focus toward clinical psychology, driven by a deep curiosity to better understand human behavior. Her strong empathy for the human experience and belief in the resilience of the human spirit have shaped her dedication to this field. She began her journey in individual counseling as a volunteer with non-profit organizations during her undergraduate years. Since then, she has expanded her expertise through specialized training in psychotherapy and clinical psychology, continuously seeking new ways to enhance her skills and deepen her understanding of the therapeutic process.

Miray Erbey's approach to psychology is multifaceted, drawing from critical perspectives that recognize the human mind is shaped by both individual experiences and societal structures. This comprehensive perspective has guided both her academic work and clinical practice, allowing her to understand the intricate connections between personal and social dynamics. By integrating holistic, client-centered, and cognitive behavioral approaches, she fosters a collaborative and trusting relationship with her clients, empowering them to build resilience and navigate life's challenges. She provides individual face-to-face counseling and education in both Turkish and English in Kadıköy, Istanbul.
